Over 65 Weekend Doctor Service

Practices proactively identify any patients over the age of 65 who may be at risk of being admitted into hospital over the weekend or at bank holidays without regular reviews or continual advice whilst their GP surgeries are closed. Our network, on behalf of its constituent practices, employ general practitioners to work weekend shifts to facilitate this on Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays on order to provide continuity of care .

Nursing and residential homes are contacted at least once per weekend and visits arranged or advice given as necessary.
